Position Overview
The Quality Engineering Manager will play a critical role in ensuring product integrity, compliance, and operational consistency across multiple production lines. This leader will oversee a multi-shift auditing team, support document control processes, drive corrective actions, and maintain high standards throughout the facility.
This position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented professional who can operate with urgency, lead a diverse team, and partner closely with operations leadership. Paid overtime is required during seasonal and peak production periods.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Manage, coach, and develop a quality auditing team across multiple shifts
- Ensure consistent application of quality and compliance procedures
- Collaborate effectively with operations leadership to uphold standards
Document Control
- Support the maintenance and accuracy of controlled documents
- Manage document databases, updates, revisions, and distribution
- Ensure production records are complete, accurate, and compliant with requirements
- Review documentation for product release and escalate abnormalities
Data Entry & Analysis
- Enter and maintain quality-related data in ERP and document management systems
- Analyze trends, identify discrepancies, and provide supporting insights
- Generate routine or ad-hoc quality reports as needed
Line Auditing & Inspection
- Conduct in-process inspections, line clearances, and component verification
- Perform routine line audits such as:
- Closure torque checks
- Induction seal verification
- Product appearance inspection
- Bottle/case coding verification
- Case seal checks
- UPC label placement
- Closure color/style verification
- Label orientation
- Pallet wrap tension
- Stop production immediately when deviations occur and escalate to leadership
- Document and report all quality concerns
Qualifications
- 6 - 8 years of experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with Excel, ERP platforms, and document control systems
- Ability to sit, stand, climb stairs, type for extended periods, and lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to work paid overtime, including weekends/holidays during peak season
- High attention to detail and ability to meet fast-paced production standards
- Bilingual (Spanish preferred)
