Environmental Health and Safety Manager
Location: Orangeburg, SC
Target pay: $80K-$100K
Job Summary
The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager will lead and supervise the implementation of EH&S programs across office and manufacturing environments. Reporting to the Regional EH&S Manager, this role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations while supporting a culture of safety, environmental responsibility, and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
• Manage and coordinate EH&S programs across offices, manufacturing sites, and plants through subordinate supervisors
• Develop and administer budgets, schedules, and performance requirements
• Conduct safety meetings, environmental training, and awareness programs
• Oversee maintenance of buildings, fixtures, and equipment to ensure regulatory compliance
• Provide guidance to employees and serve as an advisor on policy and safety matters
• Recommend policy changes affecting the EH&S organization
• Interact frequently with supervisors, customers, and functional managers
• Deliver presentations on technical information, project updates, and schedules
• Manage budgets for EH&S activities, including labor, equipment, and materials
• Train staff on policy and procedure updates
• Support HR strategies for recruiting and retaining qualified EH&S personnel
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent EH&S experience
• Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
• At least 1 year of leadership experience, ideally in an EHS-focused role
• Strong knowledge of EH&S regulations, codes, and standards
