This role supports plant operations by providing hands-on manufacturing engineering expertise, driving process improvements, supporting new equipment implementation, and collaborating closely with production, engineering, and leadership teams.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on manufacturing engineering support to resolve complex production and process issues
- Support capital equipment selection, justification, and implementation
- Design and improve cell layouts, workflows, and manufacturing processes using Lean and basic Six Sigma tools
- Support DFMA principles and new product introductions
- Partner with production teams to troubleshoot the manufacturing floor and implement process improvements
- Create, maintain, and update process documentation, work instructions, and engineering changes
- Initiate and support Process Flow Charts, PFMEA, and Control Plans in compliance with Quality System requirements
- Communicate project status and operational updates to management and customers as needed
- Collaborate with vendors, procurement, and cross-functional or multi-site teams
- Learn from senior engineers and support the development and training of team members
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) in Engineering or related technical field
- 2 years of professional engineering experience (or equivalent combination of experience and advanced education)
- Basic knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma concepts
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and/or electrical drawings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
