Must-Have Skills:

Job Summary:
Our client is seeking a Medium-Voltage Industrial Electrician to support commissioning, startup, and long-term maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems across a multi-building pharmaceutical manufacturing campus in Indianapolis.
This role is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting critical electrical utility systems supporting both construction-phase commissioning and long-term GMP manufacturing operations. The position requires strong expertise in medium-voltage systems (including 4160V), relay/breaker testing, and industrial electrical infrastructure in a highly regulated environment.
Candidates with refinery, chemical, or heavy industrial backgrounds are strongly preferred due to the complexity and safety requirements of the systems involved.
Job Duties:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on low and high voltage electrical systems
- Troubleshoot and repair medium-voltage systems, including 4160V switchgear, breakers, relays, and motor control systems
- Perform relay testing and breaker testing
- Support commissioning, FATs, and startup activities for electrical utility systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot industrial instrumentation and control systems
- Support utility systems including steam, chilled water, compressed air, glycol, and high purity water systems
- Interpret and work from electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical drawings
- Document all work using required maintenance systems and Good Documentation Practices
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and maintenance teams across shifts and departments
- Support cross-training across multiple craft disciplines
- Follow all site safety procedures including LOTO, permit systems, and hazard analysis requirements
- Participate in site safety programs and report all incidents, injuries, and hazards
- Work in compliance with cGMP and industrial safety standards
- Maintain required qualifications for high-risk tasks (LOTO, confined space, lifting, respirator use, etc.)
- Support commissioning and operational safety in high-voltage environments
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation, or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of industrial electrical or instrumentation maintenance experience
- Strong experience with medium voltage systems (4160V required)
- Experience with relay testing, breaker testing, and switchgear systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills in industrial environments
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and P&IDs
- Mechanical aptitude and cross-craft capability
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and extended shifts as needed
- Chemical, refinery, or oil & gas background strongly preferred
- Large-scale industrial or union maintenance experience is a plus
- Experience in commissioning/startup environments
- Pharmaceutical or GMP exposure (nice to have)
