Position Summary
The High School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction aligned to state standards, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting the academic growth of all students. The teacher will plan engaging lessons, assess student progress, and collaborate with colleagues to improve instructional practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver standards-based mathematics instruction for high school students
- Develop and implement lesson plans that meet diverse learning needs
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor and support student progress
- Maintain a positive, structured classroom environment that promotes student engagement
- Integrate instructional technology and data-driven practices into lessons
- Collaborate with PLCs, administrators, and support staff
- Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Participate in professional learning and ongoing curriculum development
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Education
- Valid state teaching certification in Secondary Mathematics
Preferred:
- Experience teaching high school mathematics (Algebra I–IV, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, or Statistics)
- Strong classroom management and instructional design skills
- Experience using educational technology and learning management systems
