Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Electrical Mechanic to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, motors, and mechanical equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience working with electrical wiring, circuits, and motor controls while ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and components in machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical issues, troubleshoot problems, and perform necessary repairs.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Assemble and test electrical components, circuits, and wiring for proper function.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure equipment operates efficiently.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and testing devices like multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Comply with all safety regulations, electrical codes, and company policies.
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and other team members to improve system performance.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and document repairs and inspections.
- Assist in training junior staff or apprentices when needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or certification preferred.
- Proven experience as an Electrical Mechanic or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and motor controls.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, diagrams, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools for electrical work.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of workplace safety regulations and electrical codes.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, stand for long periods, and work in various environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license (if applicable).
- Experience in industrial or commercial electrical work.
- Familiarity with PLCs and automation systems.
Work Environment:
- May require working in indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in extreme conditions.
