Senior Network Architect
Location: Houston, TX (onsite)
Stelvio are working with a client, a nationally recognised consulting firm focused on helping organisations transform and scale through technology-led solutions. Their technology division partners with businesses to design and implement high-impact infrastructure and network solutions.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure enterprise network architectures
- Translate business requirements into scalable network designs, prototypes, and solutions
- Define network standards, best practices, and architectural frameworks
- Support LAN, WAN, and communication systems across voice, video, and data environments
- Assess existing network infrastructure and recommend modernisation strategies (e.g. SDN, segmentation)
- Produce telecom circuit designs and specifications
- Identify and implement appropriate networking hardware (routers, switches, encryption devices)
- Lead network integration, testing, deployment, and optimisation activities
- Troubleshoot complex LAN/WAN issues and deliver high-performance solutions
- Contribute to strategic network direction and act as a subject matter expert within the organisation
Qualifications
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- CCNP and/or CCIE preferred
- 10 years of experience with Cisco technologies (experience with Juniper, Netgear, Fortinet beneficial)
- Strong expertise in Cisco routing platforms (ASR, ISR)
- Deep knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, DMVPN, GRE)
- Strong understanding of Layer 2 technologies (STP, MST, VLANs)
- Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise LAN/WAN environments
- Experience with network design, traffic engineering, and performance optimisation
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and software-defined networking
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to Houston, TX
