Maintenance Technician

Position Summary
We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of roadside electronic systems and infrastructure. This role is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation of field equipment through preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and corrective repairs. The position requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and participating in a rotating 24/7 on-call schedule.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair of:
- Linux and Windows-based computers and servers
- Video cameras, lighting systems, and image collection equipment
- RFID and radio frequency communication devices
- Vehicle detection systems, including inductive loops, treadles, optical separators, and related sensors
- Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) equipment
- Field communications and monitoring systems
System Monitoring & Performance
- Monitor system performance both on-site and remotely.
- Diagnose and resolve equipment and system issues.
- Ensure equipment operates within established performance standards.
- Support system optimization and reliability initiatives.
Preventive Maintenance & Support
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
- Respond to equipment failures and service requests in a timely manner.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours technical support.
- Maintain accurate service records and maintenance documentation.
- Follow established safety procedures and operational standards.
- Support operational and maintenance projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Degree, diploma, or certification in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred but not required.
- Military technical training (Avionics, Communications, Electronics, Radar Systems, etc.) is highly valued.
- Equivalent combination of technical training and relevant work experience will be considered.
Preferred Technical Experience
Experience maintaining or supporting one or more of the following:
- Electronic toll collection or intelligent transportation systems
- Industrial electronic systems
- PC and server hardware
- RFID systems
- Security, surveillance, or access control systems
- Networking and communications equipment
- Traffic management or roadside infrastructure systems
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.
- Ability to work at heights up to 40 feet using ladders, bucket trucks, or other access equipment.
- Must successfully pass background screening and motor vehicle record checks.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- OSHA certifications or other safety training may be required.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and tools as required.
Compensation & Benefits
Hourly Rate: $26.44 – $32.00 per hour
