Job Title: Maintenance Manager

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to lead a skilled operations team responsible for keeping complex tolling and infrastructure systems running at peak performance. This role works closely with hardware, technical operations, software operations, and infrastructure teams, while also interacting directly with customers. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to reliable system performance. This position includes weekend, overnight, and on-call responsibilities to support critical project milestones.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational oversight for local hardware maintenance in alignment with contract requirements.
- Lead teams to ensure 24/7 system uptime across all components of the tolling system.
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups on scope, budgeting, forecasting, and continuous operational delivery.
- Drive dynamic planning processes, balancing workload with team capacity and skillsets.
- Matrix-manage additional operations personnel as needed.
- Promote best practices across all operational functions and ensure strong cross-team communication.
- Ensure system performance meets all required metrics and successfully passes all performance audits.
- Translate customer needs into functional specifications for maintenance activities.
- Ensure teams meet milestones for response, repair, and preventive maintenance at required intervals.
- Participate in documentation reviews to confirm install readiness and maintainability of new sites or change orders.
- Provide customers with clear, timely updates using established tracking tools.
- Communicate transparently with customers during scheduled and ad-hoc meetings.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years of tolling industry experience.
- Project Management experience; PMP certification is an asset.
- Strong understanding of contract KPIs and staffing requirements to support hardware and software operations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple issues simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience maintaining large-scale, 24/7 revenue-collection systems.
