Physical Therapy Assistant (Full-Time)

Premier Rehab & Healthcare at Burlington has an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) to join our in-house rehabilitation team in Burlington, Vermont.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to provide high-quality, person-centered rehabilitation services to our residents and patients under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will work as part of an experienced clinical team to help patients improve mobility, strength, function, independence, and quality of life.

Pay: $32–$38 per hour

Physical Therapy Assistant Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy treatments and interventions under the supervision and direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Implement individualized physical therapy plans of care based on patient needs, physician orders, and established treatment goals.
• Provide therapeutic exercises and activities designed to improve strength, balance, mobility, endurance, coordination, and functional independence.
• Assist patients with functional mobility, transfers, gait training, and other therapeutic activities as appropriate.
• Monitor and document patient responses to treatment and communicate progress or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Measure and document patient progress related to mobility, strength, motor function, balance, and physical performance.
• Educate patients, residents, families, and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, mobility strategies, safety, and techniques to promote independence.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to support coordinated patient care.
• Communicate changes in patient condition or functional status to the supervising Physical Therapist and appropriate healthcare team members.
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in accordance with facility policies and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Attend required meetings and participate in other duties as assigned by the Director of Rehabilitation.
  
  
  

Physical Therapy Assistant Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current and valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in Vermont.
• Must be in good standing with applicable licensing and regulatory agencies.
• Previous experience in a skilled nursing facility (SNF) or long-term care setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of physical therapy treatment techniques and rehabilitation interventions.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with residents and patients with a variety of needs and abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Physical Therapists and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
• Familiarity with electronic therapy documentation systems, including Net Health, preferred.
