Full Job Description
Stella Marinas is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Marina General Manager to oversee all on-site operations, personnel, and financial performance at its location in Georgetown, MD. This is a hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for day-to-day management of the marina, including customer experience, facility maintenance, staff leadership, and financial results, but excluding boat service & repairs.
The General Manager will serve as the senior on-site leader and will be accountable for operational execution, safety, profitability, and long-term performance of the marina.
Key Responsibilities
Overall Marina Operations
- Oversee all day-to-day marina operations including dock operations, storage, ancillary revenue sources, marketing, facilities, and customer service.
- Ensure high standards for safety, compliance, maintenance, and cleanliness across the property.
- Coordinate closely with the Marine Service Manager and dock staff to ensure smooth operations.
Financial & Performance Management
- Own the marina's operating budget, revenue performance, and expense control.
- Drive revenue growth through occupancy optimization, pricing discipline, and ancillary income initiatives.
- Review financial reports, track performance metrics, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Team Leadership & Staffing
- Lead, manage, and develop all marina staff, including dock staff, service leadership, and administrative personnel.
- Set clear expectations, schedules, and performance standards.
- Hire, train, and retain a high-performing on-site team.
Customer Experience & Relationships
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key customers and long-term slipholders.
- Resolve customer issues professionally and ensure a positive marina culture.
- Maintain strong relationships with vendors, contractors, and local stakeholders.
Facilities, Capital & Compliance
- Oversee marina infrastructure, equipment, and grounds in coordination with service and yard teams.
- Assist with capital projects, repairs, and improvements while maintaining operations.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements.
Process & Operational Improvement
- Implement and maintain standardized procedures, reporting, and controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, customer experience, and financial performance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90, $110,000.00 per year
