Salmon, Idaho Experience
Provides therapy for individuals experiencing mental health disorders consistent with diagnoses listed in the most current DSM. Services may be provided in the context of individual, couples, group or family interactions based on the assessment of patient needs. Generally, services are by appointment, but emergency triaging and disposition is provided as necessary. The therapist adheres to the highest standard of ethical behavior and patient confidentiality. During the course of treatment planning and coordination, the therapist may interact with one or more community agencies, law enforcement organization, and other health care professionals. Maintenance of patient records including timely and accurate documentation of all services rendered is required.
Duties:
- Enforces the integrity of patient rights and provides all services within the parameters of patients' rights, federal, state or local
- Assess, diagnose, and provide treatment for patients using the DSM-5 for mental health needs
- Demonstrate proficient skill in evidence-based practices and theories to work with adults, children and their families
- Assists patients and families to fully utilize community resources
- Refers patients to other services as needed for patient assessment and progress
- Shares expertise and information with colleagues throughout Steele Memorial Medical Center
- Submits recommendations that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of behavioral health serices
- May utilize group therapy formats as applicable
- Maintains client privacy and confidentiality. Does not share client information without a written informed consent from the client, guardian, or parent
- Immediately reports violations of ethical behavior to his/her supervisor
- Maintains knowledge of current accepted practices and research-based recommendations for different treatment interventions
- Completes all documentation in a timely manner
Requirements:
Education Required:
- Masters degree in Social Work
- Licensed as a Clinical Social Worker in the state of Idaho
Related Years of Experience Required:
- Completion of 3,000 hours post graduate degree in supervised clinical services and certified/licensed in the state of Idaho required
- Completion of 3,000 hours of supervised clinical experience in direct psychotherapeutic services to individual, families, couples and groups
- Capable of working 8 plus consecutive hours, demonstrate ability to function under stress and rapidly changing conditions. Demonstrates the ability to perform triaging and crisis intervention
Credential/Licensed Required:
- Clinical Social Work License
- Drivers License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
