YOUR DAY-TO-DAY
As a Heat Treating Manufacturing Engineer, you will spend your days developing, optimizing, and maintaining heat-treat processes including hardening, tempering, annealing, carburizing, and stress relieving. You will create and update process documentation, work instructions, and heat-treat recipes. Monitoring furnace performance, temperature uniformity, and equipment calibration to meet AMS, NADCAP, and customer requirements will be a key part of your role. You will troubleshoot heat-treat issues such as distortion, hardness variation, microstructure deviations, and quench performance. Supporting metallurgical testing, hardness checks, and microstructure evaluations will be one of your daily tasks, along with leading root-cause analysis and corrective actions for nonconformances. You will collaborate with Quality, Production, and Maintenance to ensure consistent process control, implement continuous improvement initiatives, assist with NADCAP audits and compliance documentation, and support new product launches by developing heat-treat process flows for new parts.
Here's what you need to become our Heat Treating Manufacturing Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in manufacturing engineering, mechanical engineering, metallurgy, or a related field
- Experience with heat-treat operations in aerospace or precision manufacturing (preferred)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and metallurgical requirements
