About Big Leap
Big Leap Health is democratizing access to breakthrough mental health treatments. We connect people with vetted clinics who provide treatments such as Spravato, TMS & more covered by insurance.
At Big Leap Health, we believe breakthrough mental health treatments are a pillar in the journey toward achieving our fullest potential but are often too expensive and inaccessible for most. We focus on making cutting-edge treatments like Spravato, TMS, Ketamine, and other innovative therapies accessible to all through insurance coverage. These aren't just treatments; they're gateways to resilience, empathy, hope, and strength.
We’re building technology and tools to help clinics offer these treatments more easily, while enabling patients to use their insurance benefits to receive these life changing treatments. While currently in stealth, we’ve raised $3M from top VCs and angels, have already signed numerous customers, and are growing rapidly.
About The Role
We’re looking for a revenue cycle expert to lead core functions of our partner revenue cycle. This includes Coding, Billing, Collections, Denials Management, and defining and tracking KPIs to inform areas of focus for process improvement. We’re at an exciting inflection point in our industry and business, and we’re looking for a dynamic functional leader to scale volume and quality. This is a player-coach role, reporting directly to the Co-Founder & COO. We prefer New York City based candidates where we have a thriving office, but we are open to remote work for the right candidate.
In the role, you’ll:
- Own and optimize the billing revenue lifecycle — including coding, billing, collections, and denials — for a growing network of outpatient practices offering innovative mental health treatments. You, your team, and any vendors you engage will be wholly responsible for end to end performance.
- Work alongside the Prior Authorization & Credentialing teams to proactively identify obstacles to reimbursement and maintain industry-leading claim payment rates
- Easily translate confusing and technical revenue cycle concepts into actionable and understandable guidance for our partners
- Develop and execute a staffing model enabling market-leading performance on our core RCM KPIs like clean claim rate, days to pay, net collections, and others (which you’ll define!)
- Collaborate with the Product team to inform optimization of internal Big Leap tooling as well as selection of critical vendors enabling all stages of the revenue cycle, leveraging new AI technologies where possible
- Create visibility into collections for our partners, enabling accurate and timely partner payouts, as well as creating data-driven insights for ongoing optimization of their businesses
- Partner with our Payer Contracting team to identify revenue expansion opportunities in new and existing contracts
Application and Hiring Process:
- Submit your resume and any supporting materials
- A 30 minute screening call with our COO
- A take home exercise
- 2 x 45 minute interviews, one of which will be skills-focused (technical) and the other culture/values fit
- Decision
About You:
- Bachelor’s degree and 5-10 years of revenue cycle management experience, with at least 3 years in a management role
- Deep attention to detail and orientation towards process development - you know that nailing the details is critical in revenue cycle management, and only with excellent process and documentation can scale be achieved
- Exposure to complex payer environments, including Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and commercial ASO groups
- Bias towards technology - you have experience with, and enjoy, rolling out and optimizing new technologies to enhance the effectiveness of your team
- Startup or scaling experience - you know how to build from zero, not just optimize legacy structures
