Head of Design (Hands On)

About the Role

We’re looking for a Head of Design who thrives at the intersection of creativity, execution, and leadership. This isn’t a role for someone who wants to sit back and manage from afar — it’s for a hands-on designer who loves to roll up their sleeves, set a vision, and then bring it to life alongside a small but mighty team of 2–3 designers.

In this role, you’ll partner closely with product, engineering, and leadership to create a product experience that reimagines what B2B software can look and feel like. Our mission is to make global supply chain technology as seamless, intuitive, and captivating as the best consumer apps in the world.

Location: This role is 100% on-site in Bellevue, Washington. Applicants must be able to work from the office on a daily basis.

What You’ll Do

• Lead by doing — balance designing high-quality, visually stunning experiences yourself while growing and guiding a small team of designers.
• Elevate B2B into the modern age — bring B2C-level artistry, creativity, and intuitiveness to a traditionally outdated space.
• Collaborate cross-functionally — work hand-in-hand with product managers, engineers, and company leadership to deliver designs that marry usability with business impact.
• Move fast without sacrificing quality — ideate on a whiteboard in the morning, prototype that same afternoon, and push design forward in days, not weeks.
• Shape design culture — infuse creativity, craft, and user empathy into every part of the product development process.
• Own the design language — establish and evolve our design system, visual identity, and overall user experience.

What We’re Looking For

• 10 years of design experience, with a portfolio that demonstrates both hands-on visual design chops and strategic leadership.
• Strong artistic and creative instincts, with the ability to make B2B software feel modern, intuitive, and engaging.
• Experience leading and mentoring small design teams (2–3 people), while staying deeply involved in design execution.
• Track record of moving quickly from concept to execution — delivering impactful designs without getting bogged down in lengthy cycles.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; comfortable partnering with product and engineering leaders at both strategic and tactical levels.
• Passion for building products that solve complex business challenges while delivering delightful, consumer-grade user experiences.
