A growing, culture-focused law firm in the Carolinas is seeking an experienced HR Manager to join its team.
Responsibilities
- Partner with department leaders to identify hiring needs and write compelling job postings
- Screen resumes, coordinate interviews, and conduct reference/background checks
- Lead onboarding, including first-day experience, welcome lunches, and compliance paperwork
- Conduct 1-, 3-, and 6-month check-ins and stay interviews with new employees
- Coordinate annual performance reviews and support managers with coaching and development
- Process payroll accurately and manage PTO, benefits, and employee records
- Handle offboarding, exit interviews, and separation documentation
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and managers on employee relations issues
- Organize employee appreciation initiatives and promote company culture
- Recommend improvements to HR systems, policies, and processes
Qualifications
- 5 years of Human Resources experience
- Experience managing payroll and HR administration
- Experience recruiting, interviewing, and hiring
- Experience leading onboarding and employee engagement initiatives
- Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- High level of professionalism and discretion
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to quickly learn new software
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred
- Experience with ADP payroll and supporting organizations with 50 employees preferred
- Law firm experience a plus; personal injury law firm experience a strong plus
What We Offer
- The annual salary for this position is between $65,000 and $80,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
