What are the responsibilities and job description for the Student Government & Finance Coordinator position at State University of New York at Plattsburgh?
This position will work directly with our Student Association (SA) to help with planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating a range of programs and services for the benefit of the student body. Responsibilities are expected to include providing direction and leadership in budget development, expenditure protocols, and finance policy enforcement; guiding the creation of new documents and assuring compliance with campus policies; and challenging and supporting student leaders in the execution of their roles and enforcing the guidelines of their governing bylaws and policies. The ideal candidate will be able to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with a variety of campus stakeholders, including effectively serving as the primary point of contact between the Student Association and their fiscal agent, College Auxiliary Services (CAS). The review of all club and organization contracts with outside vendors to mitigate risks, working as an advisor in a variety of capacities to student groups, as well as assisting with election processes and leadership training is also expected.The Enrollment and Student Success division supports a student’s entire collegiate experience from the point of admission through to graduation. We partner with students, faculty and staff to provide a network of opportunities and services that lead to student success. Collectively, the division of Enrollment and Student Success positively influences the health, safety and well-being of the student body. The Student Engagement and Leadership office works to offer opportunities and programs for all students to be engaged in campus life in a variety of ways.
