The Division of Adult Institutions is seeking to fill a Warden position. This position is located at Oakhill Correctional Institution in Oregon, WI.
Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Administrator of the Division of Adult Institutions, this position will serve as the chief executive officer of Oakhill Correctional Institution, a minimum-security facility. This position is responsible for the planning, operation, direction and management of Oakhill Correctional Institution. Furthermore, this position is responsible for the operation of the multi-dimensional programs utilizing the directives and administrative rules of the Department of Corrections and the statutes of the State of Wisconsin.
Salary Information

This position is in pay schedule/range 81-01 with an annual starting salary of $104,000 - $124,550 . Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A 2-year Career Executive trial period is required.

Job Details

Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.
The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.
The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.
Shift: Monday-Friday 7:45am-4:30pm
As public safety employees, remote work is not an option for these positions.
Qualifications

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience: Supervising staff including hiring, assigning/directing work, evaluating performance, etc. Implementing methods and techniques to organize and integrate security, education, treatment, and administrative activities into a coordinated and effective program. Managing and making decisions related to administrative functions, such as program planning, compliance, budget, and operations
In addition to the minimum qualifications, well-qualified applicants will have experience: Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. local law enforcement, local governments, etc.) Managing public relations with a variety of agencies, organizations and members of the public. Management and/or supervisor experience in a correctional setting. Managing or supervising multi-disciplinary staff (i.e. security, social services, healthcare, etc.)
