The Division of Adult Institutions is currently recruiting to fill an Office Associate - Limited Term Employment position located at the DOC central office in Madison, WI.

Note: Candidates must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin in order to be considered. LTE positions are limited to working a total of 1039 hours over a period of 12 months.

Position Summary


This position provides two types of services to the DOC central office: (1) front desk reception administration covering incoming phone calls, visitors, and general reception duties; and (2) redaction and related services to further the mission of the BRM Team related to public records management.

This position manages the daily flow of incoming telephone calls, packages, and visitors to the Central Office. This involves answering callers’ questions, and transferring calls to responsible parties. Also, this position performs professional work on redaction and related services utilizing technology tools for the retrieval, compilation, redaction, and dissemination of audio, text and visual information related to the management of public records and internal DOC needs. This position is responsible for assisting with the Department’s public records redaction program which consists of, but is not limited to, performing the following: digital records analysis, assisting in following digital record redaction policies, and conducting digital redaction activities.

Salary Information


The starting pay is $19.49 per hour. The pay schedule/range is 02-09.

Job Details


Applicants must be legally entitled to work in the United States (i.e., a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application. The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting.

The Department of Corrections may conduct pre-employment drug screens. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency to employment. Applicants who fail or refuse the drug screen will not be given further consideration for employment.

Qualifications


Minimally qualified applicants will have:

  • Education, training, and/or experience working with modern office equipment and usage.
  • Education, training, and/or experience with computer operations, digital recording systems, and/or software implementations.
  • Education, training, and/or experience reviewing complex records (law enforcement, correctional, medical records, etc.)
