The Division of Adult Institutions is recruiting to fill a Corrections Sentencing Associate position. This position is based out of Oakhill Correctional Institution in Oregon, WI.

Position Summary


This position is responsible for providing technical services to persons in our care, including processing detainers, sentence computations, and releases. This position is in an ongoing learning mode for sentence computations and all related Records Office functions and may assist with processing Public Record Requests. This position will serve as back up to other assigned Records Office staff, as needed.

Salary Information


The Corrections Sentencing Associate is in pay schedule and range 02-12 with a starting pay of $24.12/hour. Pay will be set in accordance with the Compensation Plan and Wisconsin Administrative Code in effect at the time of hire. A 12-month probationary period is required.

Job Details


Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States (i.e. a citizen or national of the U.S., a lawful permanent resident, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. without DOC sponsorship) at the time of application.

The Department of Corrections will conduct criminal background checks on applicants prior to selection. Upon hire, all new DOC employees are subject to fingerprinting. Any applicant who is offered employment in a position which requires a pre-employment drug screen must pass the screen as a contingency of employment.

NOTE: This position is eligible to work remotely 1 day per week.

Qualifications


The qualifications listed below will be evaluated in the first step of the selection process and must be clearly described in the letter of qualifications and resume:

Minimally qualified applicants will have experience in all of the following:

  • Performing mathematical calculations for specific work-related programs (e.g., budget preparation, accounting, offender sentence computations, etc.)
  • Utilizing computer programs (such as: Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Google sheets, Doc, etc.) for creating, updating, and maintaining documents and databases.
  • Maintaining, analyzing, and auditing of files according to established policies/procedures/statutes, etc.
