Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position:
- Coordinate and refer services from community resources, placement providers, collateral agencies, the court, and/or other community partners with families, clients, or patients receiving services.
- Provide clients with information and recovery literacy, through group and individual therapy, as well as their rights, options, benefits, services, goals, and expectations.
- Prepares detailed case documentation including: opening and closing cases, intake records, investigation summaries, case histories, risk assessments, social summaries, needs assessments, service plans, relapse prevention plans, correspondence, etc.
- Provides counseling to clients/residents which may require interaction with members of the client's/residence family.
- Assesses client/patient needs. Develops and implements plans to meet those needs.
Minimum qualifications:
- Licensed to work in the State of Utah with one of the following certifications, along with applicable education and experience: CSUDC, LSUDC, CASUDC, LASUDC, ACMHC, CMHC, or LCSW.
- We need a SUDC Caseworker who is helpful and friendly by nature, a team player, with a strong desire to assist people in their mental health recovery.

- Risks which require the use of special safety precautions and/or equipment, e.g., working around operating machines, working with contagious diseases or hazardous chemicals, etc.
- Work requires physical exertion. May require the ability to stand; walk over rough surfaces; bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
- Utah State Hospital provides comprehensive violence prevention and deescalation training for all employees during orientation. Ongoing training is provided to prioritize staff and patient safety.
- Division of Human Resource Management rules and Department of Health and Human Services policies regarding promotions and transfers apply to current employees.
- The Utah State Hospital is a smoke free environment. Tobacco or E-cigarette use is NOT allowed on campus.
