The Agency The Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission (JPEC) was established by the legislature in 2008 to help voters get to know their judges. Its goals are providing information and feedback and promoting public accountability. We conduct multi-faceted evaluations of judges that evaluate legal ability, judicial temperament and integrity, administrative skill, procedural fairness, disciplinary record, judicial time standards, and physical and mental competence. Position Details
- Start Date: Flexible; Summer 2026 through the November election
- Schedule: 10-15 hours/week, increasing to 20 hours per week, closer to election
- Pay: $16/hour
- Work Format: Flexible; largely remote with some in-person opportunities (Utah State Capitol - 350 N State St, SLC, UT 84114)
- Schedule Code: AC- Employees in Offices of Elected Officials
- Background Check Required – You must successfully pass a criminal history check.
- Support efforts to increase awareness of JPEC and its public resources
- Assist with election outreach initiatives, including social media campaigns and advertising
- Contribute to website design and content updates
- Conduct courtroom observations as part of the evaluation process
- Assist with data entry and data management tasks
- Insight into the judicial system and evaluation process in Utah
- Experience in marketing, communications, and social media strategy
- Hands-on experience with Salesforce (CRM)
- Exposure to data management and basic qualitative analysis
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with care and discretion
- Social media & marketing skills; Excel skills
- A keen eye for detail and error correction; reliable, self-motivated
