Job Description
Employee will operate a variety of AV equipment in support of DNR events, Board proceedings, recorded and live-streamed to YouTube meetings. The AV Technician will contribute to the management of the AV request/event calendar system (CODA), standard operating procedures, and training/support of non-technical DNR staff in their role of event support. This position will be part of a small, core AV team and, as such, will play a key role in the evolution and improvement of our operations. There is a high level of interaction with all DNR divisions and their event organizers, requiring incumbents to have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and follow through. Troubleshoots and diagnoses problems, makes adjustments, repairs, and/or performs preventative steps to maintain AV system components.
Ideal Candidate
Experience with AV technical equipment/software (e.g. ATEM mini, ATEM Software Controller, Dante, Taradek, PTZ cameras, OBS, wireless mics, Stream Deck, sound mixer).
Implementation experience with AV-supported events involving live production, recording, post production editing, remote/in-person hybrid meetings (Google Meet, Teams, etc.).
Personable and customer service-minded. Excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinates the AV solutions in support of department needs.
Operates AV equipment during live events, including board meetings, public meetings and remote/hybrid meetings.
Maintains AV equipment, configurations and helps in reviewing equipment purchases.
Travel to locations in support of remote events requiring AV support.
Co-manage the AV request/event calendar system/processes (CODA).
Communicate with DNR staff to vet AV needs and coordinate AV team solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn system components and how they integrate with one another and system SOPs.
Excellent communication skills, both face to face and in written form.
Working knowledge of business software like Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, PPT, Zoom, Google Meet, MS Teams.
Supportive and respectful demeaner to build a strong team culture.
Preferred Qualifications
Ability to troubleshoot AV system components.
Demonstrate the capability to find simple, straightforward solutions that help end users of our AV systems.

Supplemental Information
- Ability to lift or carry heavy pieces of equipment (speakers, monitors, tables, etc.) for short distances Licensed to drive a vehicle.
- Occasionally, it is necessary to work longer than 8 eight hours in a day or 40 hours in a week so the ability to work flexible hours is needed.
- Proof of a drivers license and if necessary, obtain a Utah drivers license within 2 months of hire.
