Key Responsibilities
- This position will be open until filled and may close at any time*
and CHIP programs. As required by the State Medicaid director, prepare and defend budget recommendations, requests,
reports, proposals and/or projections. Also may be required by the State Medicaid Director, act on behalf of the State Medicaid
Director in matters pertaining to the division.
- The assistant division directors help the State Medicaid director and the operations director in managing the Medicaid and CHIP programs. As required by the State Medicaid director, prepare and defend budget recommendations, requests, reports, proposals and/or projections. As required by the State
- This Assistant Division Director will be responsible for overseeing Operational Units within the Department which can include Coverage and Reimbursement Policy and Managed Care.
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying light items; driving an automobile, etc. Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.
- This position may currently be a hybrid of both in-office and remote work days. Please note, a position's eligibility for remote work is established by agency management and is subject to change at their discretion, at any time, and for any reason.
- Effective July 1, 2021, State of Utah Employees must either reside in Utah or be in the process of relocating to Utah within 30 days of their start date.
Minimum or "day-one" qualifications:
- Has knowledge of Utah Medicaid policies, procedures, rates, etc.
- Professional certification in a relevant field (e.g., RN, JD, CPA, MBA etc.)
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Public Administration, Health Care Administration, Business Administration or Public Health.
- Experience in management.
- General knowledge of Medicaid, healthcare public policy
- Health Insurance or Health Care background
