What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Auditor position at State of South Carolina?
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for managing the daily operations of employer audit activities for insurance and retirement benefit programs to ensure employer compliance with applicable policies and procedures. Additionally, this position is responsible for leading and executing complex level audits and ad hoc audit requests.
Job responsibilities include:
- Managing and directing the daily operations of employer audit activities of insurance and retirement benefits by scheduling audits, assigning work to staff, reviewing and approving audit reports, determining priorities of audits, resolving audit concerns and following up on areas of non-compliance.
- Performing audits of a high degree of complexity, by developing and executing audits that may require a deeper understanding of the employer or function under review as a part of an ad hoc project.
- Monitoring work assignments to ensure timely completion and performance of employer audits by frequent interaction with audit staff, reviewing documentation, results and conclusion of tasks performed to ensure the success and professional standards of the audits, as well as on-going professional development of the staff involved.
- Ensuring staff accountability by monitoring and addressing employee performance and conduct. Effectively utilizing the Employee Performance Management System (EPMS) process in setting expectations and evaluating performance. Following agency policies for addressing disciplinary concerns. Serving as an advocate for employee interests by communicating with agency management and promoting career development.
