This position is located at the SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, 525 LaFayette Street, Georgetown, South Carolina
Under limited supervision from the Program Manager II/Chief of Staff and Executive Director, will serve as a program supervisor providing program oversight and direct supervision to staff. Will evaluate and monitor staff performance and quality of work to ensure policy and grogram standards are met and goals are achieved. Provide direct clinical and performance management of staff withing the program and clinical operations. Position is considered essential and may be called back during crisis/disaster/emergencies.
Responsibilities for the Program Coordinator II Include:
- Provide direct clinical supervision to staff to include group and individual staff meetings/trainings, observation of staff in clinical setting to improve quality of services being received by patients and their families.
- Oversee training to new staff on clinical and administrative policies and procedures related to OMH, Corporate Compliance and CARF standards.
- Manage the monthly audit process to assist staff in maintaining compliance with established State, Local, Federal, OMH< WCMH, Quality Assurance, Corporate Compliance and CARF standards for clinical documentation.
- Complete EPMS process and all required paperwork within OMH standards and policies to ensure performance management of all staff.
- Attend and participate in supervisory meetings and trainings on an on-going basis to ensure accurate information is provided to staff.
- Coordinate duties and schedules with Program Director and act as back-up in the absence of Program Director assuming all duties and responsibilities.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
- Master's degree in guidance, social sciences or counseling.
- One year experience in a clinical counseling program.
- Must meet OMH credentialing requirements which include specific graduate course work in the areas of - Psychopathology/Psychopathology Diagnostics/Clinical Assessments - Practice with Family Therapy DSM) and Medical Ethics.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have prior supervisory experience in clinical setting overseeing management of various staff members including clinical and non-clinical.
- Must have thorough knowledge of principles of interpersonal, family, and group dynamics.
- Considerable comprehension of methods, principles, and practices of clinical assessment, interviewing, counseling individuals, families and groups.
- Must have understanding of community services provided by other public and private agencies.
- Ability to integrate and coordinate services with those of other disciplines and community organizations.
- Must be able to establish working relationships with clients, families, and representatives of other professional disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
- Licensed Practitioner of Healing Arts

- Be able to use a state vehicle for work related purposes.
- Use clinical judgement while working independently at times and be self - directed.
- Follow and endorse all SCDBHDD/OMH/WCMH policies and procedures.
