Opportunity Overview


A premier public higher education institution in Rhode Island is seeking a skilled, contract-to-hire Talent Acquisition Recruiter to manage the full recruitment lifecycle for academic and administrative positions. You'll work closely with hiring managers and HR business partners to identify, source, and attract high-caliber talent that aligns with the organization's mission, strategic goals, and commitment to diversity and inclusion.


This role is ideal for a collaborative recruiter with a solid foundation in human resources, excellent candidate engagement skills, and a process-oriented mindset.


Schedule & Hybrid Work Policy

  • Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM-35 hours per week
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid Schedule.
  • In-Office Requirement: Three (3) days per week in the office.
  • Monday is a mandatory in-office day for team alignment.
  • The remaining two (2) days are remote.


Key Responsibilities

  • Full Lifecycle Recruitment Management end-to-end staffing processes, including requisition intake, job posting creation, proactive sourcing, resume screening, structured interviewing, offer negotiation, and pre-employment onboarding coordination.
  • Hiring Manager Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to hiring managers; consult on talent pool trends, craft specific search strategies, and outline compliant selection processes.
  • Candidate Sourcing & Pipeline Building: Architect and execute search strategies using advanced job boards, social channels, professional associations, networks, and internal referrals to construct diverse applicant pools.
  • Candidate Assessment & Experience: Screen and interview candidates for core competencies, technical skills, and organizational alignment. Deliver clear, respectful, and highly professional communication to maintain the institution's reputation as an employer of choice.
  • Applicant Tracking System Integrity: Maintain real-time accuracy of applicant progress, stages, and dispositions in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS); generate and review hiring metrics to improve the process.
  • Compliance & Legal: Ensure strict adherence to state and federal labor laws, Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines, civil service regulations, and institutional hiring standards.


Candidate Qualifications

  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of hands-on human resources or full-cycle recruiting experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing concurrent, multi-tiered search strategies from intake to offer.
  • Key Skills & Competencies:
  • Sourcing Mastery: Savvy in finding passive talent using Boolean search, databases, LinkedIn, and specialized job boards.
  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written articulation skills. Ability to champion the institution's organizational culture to external candidates.
  • Time Management: Highly organized; capable of juggling multiple active requisitions across different departments without sacrificing quality.
  • ATS & Tech Savvy: Strong proficiency in modern recruitment software, applicant tracking platforms, and office suite applications (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Compliance Knowledge: Dependable knowledge of EEO, inclusive hiring practices, and federal/state employment guidelines.
