Job Description
The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry (ODAFF) is seeking a full-time Made in Oklahoma Coordinator in the Market Development Division. This position (PIN # is in state government, located in Oklahoma. This position will work throughout the state of Oklahoma, with the duty station will be determined upon hire.

The annual pay for this position ranges from $58,020.00 to $70,840.00 based on education and experience.
Position Description:
Responsibilities in this position involve the planning, promotion and monitoring of marketing programs that will benefit the sale of Oklahoma agricultural products. Activities relate to opening and expanding markets for growers, producers, and processors of Oklahoma products and other related educational functions which will enhance the agricultural industry and rural economic development in the state.
Typical Functions:
- Manage membership recruitment, database and communications for the Made in Oklahoma Program.
- Assist with planning and execution of division events including the Made in Oklahoma store at the Oklahoma State Fair.
Work with the Board of the Made in Oklahoma Coalition (public-private partnership supported by ODAFF) to:
Plan and execute member activities
Maintain membership records
Manage contractors and projects
Prepare a budget and strategic plan each year
Level Description:
II - This is the career level of this job family where employees are assigned duties and responsibilities at the full performance level for performing a full range of tasks involving agricultural promotional and marketing activities. This includes promotions at trade shows and fairs, directories, promotional campaigns, in store promotions, cooking demonstrations, direct marketing assistance, and other activities to expand and open domestic and international markets for agricultural products and services.
III - This is the specialist level of this job family where employees are assigned responsibilities for performing advanced level work in planning, organizing, and implementing multiple or complex marketing programs, including serving as project leaders, developing work activities and budgets for assigned programs, and directing or supervising the work of other coordinators assigned to assist in implementing assigned programs.
Education and Experience:
II - Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor's degree in agriculture plus one year of qualifying experience or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience in marketing agricultural commodities or value added processed products for each year of the required education.
III - Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor's degree in agriculture plus two years of qualifying experience or a closely related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of experience in marketing agricultural commodities or value added processed products for each year of the required education.
Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:
Level II - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of the agricultural industry in Oklahoma; of advertising principles and practices; of promotional activities regarding agricultural products; and of effective public relations.
Ability is required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to follow instructions; to exercise independent judgment; to express ideas clearly and concisely; to conduct several projects simultaneously; and to evaluate information and alternatives and select an appropriate course of action.
Level III - Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required at this level include knowledge of the agricultural industry in Oklahoma; of advertising principles and practices; of promotional activities regarding agricultural products; of effective public relations; of business administration functions and techniques; of domestic and international marketing strategies; and of program evaluation techniques.
Ability is required to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others; to follow instructions; to exercise independent judgment; to express ideas clearly and concisely; to conduct several projects simultaneously; to evaluate information and alternatives and select an appropriate course of action; to carry out several projects simultaneously; to evaluate ongoing programs to ensure compliance with established guidelines or to enhance effectiveness; and to develop comprehensive marketing plans.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Position is field-based and frequent in-state travel is required. Event setup with some heavy lifting is possible. Some outdoor work. Nights, weekends and long hours are common.
Additional Information:
This position is subject to a twelve-month probationary period.
