This position reports to the Revenue Management Manager of the Administrative Services Division.
Typical Functions
- Collect, organize, enter, coordinate, and prepare for deposit all fee funds received by DEQ and may include electronic fund and wire payments utilizing ten-key and computer skills.
- Receipt all money received by customers who come to the DEQ building to make payment.
- Reviews, analyzes, and presents financial data for customer accounts and agency revenue.
- Prepare customer invoices as required.
- Process refunds as needed.
- Respond to customer questions and contact customers to obtain required information.
- Back-up the other duties in the Revenue Section as required.
- Position may also include preparing the monthly clearing account reconciliation and transfer of funds; performing federal cash draws and reconcile grant balances; and mailing out daily accounts payable warrants to correct vendors.
- Stay current on generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards, and applicable state statutes.

- Knowledge of statewide accounting manual and Oklahoma State Finance Act; business operations including finance, procurement, state, and federal laws.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and theories.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft Phase II Project Based accounting.
- Knowledge of financial statements and reports.
- Knowledge of accounting ledgers and journals.
- Skills and Competencies- excellent verbal and written communication, project management, dynamic leadership, and data analysis.
- Ability to build relationships with all levels of staff, executives, and stakeholders.
- Computer Skills – Employee must be capable of proficiently using standard software (Microsoft Office - Word, Outlook, Excel, Access, and Teams) and the Internet.
- High level of organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
- Employee must be capable of lifting, carrying, and moving objects of up to 25 pounds.
- Knowledge of statewide accounting manual and Oklahoma State Finance Act; business operations including finance, procurement, state, and federal laws.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and theories.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft Phase II Project Based accounting.
- Knowledge of financial statements and reports.
