Why does the job exist?
This position is vital to the daily operations of the Financial Accounting Bureau and all other Divisions and Programs within Department of Health. Works closely with the Cash Manager and the FAB Bureau Chief.
How does it get done?
This position is responsible for maintaining the Petty Cash records, assist with the monthly Cash Management Division reports, preparing and entering Journal Entries (OPR, CSH, CFR and AGY), and preparing requisitions, purchase orders, and vouchers. It will also include being the back-up for the Cashiers when needed and being able to review, audit, and analyze the DJ packets that requires that understanding of Funds, Department ID, Reporting Category, Account, Operating Unit, Budget Reference, and Class.
To provide technical and administrative accounting support to the Asset Division of the Financial Accounting Bureau. This role is primarily responsible for compiling, reviewing, and organizing all necessary documentation required for compliance with GASB Statement No. 87 (Leases) and GASB Statement No. 96 (Subscription-Based Information Technology Arrangements - SBITAs). The incumbent will ensure data integrity by reviewing agreements, extracting key financial metrics, and maintaining the central audit trail.
Assist the FAB department with the annual audit and any other task as assigned.

Minimum Qualification
High School diploma or Equivalency and one (1) year of experience in bill collection, bookkeeping, office administration, auditing, accounting, and/or finance. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling one (1) year may substitute for the required experience.

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some sitting, standing, bending and reaching may be required.
