The Cannabis Control Division provides efficient licensing, compliance, and regulatory services to ensure the safe production, testing, sale, and consumption of commercial and medical cannabis by ensuring that licensed individuals are qualified to provide services in the cannabis industry. The Division issues licenses to cannabis producers, microbusiness producers, integrated microbusinesses, manufacturers, retailers, consumption areas, vertically integrated establishments, couriers, and testing and research laboratories. Additionally, the Division works in concert with the Department of Public Safety, Office of the State Engineer, Environment Department, other state agencies, tribes and pueblos to assist applicants to get licensed and assure compliance with all applicable state and local laws.
Interviews are anticipated to be conducted within two weeks of closing date.

This position exists to provide accurate and efficient records management of licensing, compliance and administrative records for the Cannabis Control Division.
How does it get done?
The Records Manager position provides efficient administrative support and quality customer service. Duties include, but are not limited to the following: Ensure all records/documents are neatly organized and filed at all times in the proper location; ensure all database records contain required and updated information necessary to generate accurate data; search for and provide records requested through the Inspection of Public Records Act (IPRA); Records Liaison for the Division and the State Records and Archives, which entails maintenance of Division records to process and prepare records for transfer, storage, retrieval and destruction at the Records Center facilities; ensure timely, respectful and accurate communication with applicants, licensees, prospective licensees, and other stakeholders to answer questions and provide information about licensing requirements, application statuses, and any other customer inquiries; assist licensing staff with documentation/record gathering and review of new and renewal license applications for completeness including communicating statuses with applicants; and other duties as necessary.

Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification. Pre-employment background investigation is required and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
This position is office-based, involving extensive use of personal computers and phones, with prolonged periods of sitting. The selected candidate must be capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling files and heavy boxes, and managing tasks under stress and frequent time constraints.
