Due to the available budget allocated for this position, the hiring rate will not exceed $20.72 per hour.
Why does the job exist?
Position will assist with maintaining, reviewing and completing reconciliation of inmate financial records to ensure compliance with accepted principles and standards regarding inmate financial accounts. Position will assist in processing inmate deposits, payments and reimbursements and serve as aide to Senior Inmate Accounts as needed.
How does it get done?
High School diploma or equivalent and three (3) months of work experience in office administration, bookkeeping, accounting, and/or auditing. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling three (3) months may substitute for the required experience.
Employment Requirements
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Employment is subject to a pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.

- Assist with ensuring required documentation is received and verified before processing inmate financial transactions
- Copy and prepare documents for archiving purposes
- Review transactions for documentation of obligation, payment authorization, timely payment and accurate recording
- Assist with ensuring inmate information is current, accurate and is reflected in the Criminal Management Information System (OMNI)
