Why does the job exist?
Position will facilitate training to incoming officers and current officers, this includes handling all logistical issues involved in coordinating training.
How does it get done?
Associate's Degree in any field as it pertains to the essential duties and responsibilities of this classification and three (3) years of experience in law enforcement, adult corrections, classroom instruction, and/or teaching. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling five (5) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Employment Requirements
This position is designated as safety sensitive. Employment is subject to pre-employment and random testing, in accordance with all terms and conditions of federal and state law, rules, and regulations in relation to alcohol and/or drug testing. Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Employment is subject to pre-employment background investigation and is conditional pending results.
Working Conditions
Work is performed in an adult prison environment, which includes daily contact with inmates. Willingness to work in a correctional facility, may be required to work odd hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends.
