Job Description

Professional Librarian, completing or overseeing a variety of assignments to provide policy required services to library patrons and to develop, implement, improve and maintain a State Agency's Library Program. Supervisor of Library Assistants and Technicians. Coordinator of staff supervision of prisoners in the library. Supervise Legal Writer Program at URF.

Required Education and Experience

Education
Possession of a master's degree in library science.

Experience
Three years of professional experience providing librarian services equivalent to a Librarian, including one year equivalent to a Librarian P11.

New hires to the MDOC along with previous MDOC employees that are returning after being away from the department for more than two years will complete Non-Custody New Employee Training (NCNET) either 40 hours or 80 hours of initial in-person training based on their level of offender contact and job classification. All new employees will complete additional online training to successfully complete their non-custody new employee training.
