Tewksbury Hospital, part of the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), is seeking a dynamic Compliance Coordinator to lead meaningful work that directly impacts patient experience including overseeing complaint investigations, guiding incident reporting, and ensuring organizational readiness for product recalls. As a visible and trusted partner across departments, the Compliance Coordinator helps shape a culture of accountability, transparency, and high reliability while working closely with quality leadership to advance strategic safety initiatives

Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):

  • Conduct investigations on patient complaints received electronically, by paper, or through the Incident Reporting system.
  • Oversee the Online Incident Reporting process and prepare monthly reports for Quality Management committees, including Employee Safety, Patient & Family Advisory, Quality & Patient Safety, Pain, and Regulatory Readiness Committees.
  • Lead employee Quality Safety Committee meetings, maintain action plans, and report employee safety and patient complaint data at relevant committees.
  • Serve as co-chair for the Patient and Family Advisory Committee (PFAC) and present patient and family satisfaction survey findings, coordinating follow-up actions.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Quality Officer to develop and implement quality and safety action plans.
  • Attend hospital-wide safety huddles, escalate safety concerns, and represent Quality Management during hospital orientation sessions.
  • Manage administrative operations of the Quality Management department, including planning, organizing, and reviewing progress toward departmental goals with direct reports.
  • Ensure hospital compliance with product recalls and provide summary reports to Environment of Care (EOC) and Quality & Patient Safety (QPS) committees.
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships across all services and departments to support an integrated quality and safety environment.
Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary committees, facilitate meetings, maintain action plans, and coordinate reporting to hospital leadership and advisory councils.
  • Skilled in data collection, analysis, and reporting activities to enhance informed decision-making and quality improvement efforts.
  • Excellent communication skills including ability to effectively communicate quality and safety initiatives to staff and patients.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare quality and patient safety programs, including investigating patient complaints, managing incident reporting systems, and leading quality or safety committees.
  • Strong leadership and collaborative skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-departmental initiatives, develop action plans, and foster relationships across clinical and administrative teams.

Qualifications
First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) four years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional, administrative or managerial experience in business administration, business management or public administration the major duties of which involved program management, program administration, program coordination, program planning and/or program analysis, and (B) of which at least one year must have been in a supervisory capacity, or (C) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Substitutions:

I. A Bachelor's degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of two years of the required (A) experience.*

II. A Graduate degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of three years of the required (A) experience.*

III. A Bachelor's or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required (A) experience.*

  • Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.

NOTE: No substitutions will be permitted for the required (B) experience.

Salary placement is determined by a combination of factors, including the candidate’s years of directly related experience and education, and alignment with our internal compensation structure as set forth by the Human Resources Division’s Hiring Guidelines. For all bargaining unit positions (non-management), compensation is subject to the salary provisions outlined in the applicable collective bargaining agreement and will apply to placement within the appropriate salary range.
