The Information Technology Department of Teachers' Retirement System of Louisiana (TRSL) is seeking a motivated undergraduate or graduate student possessing a strong work ethic, integrity and the ability to work well with others to join our team of software developers.
At TRSL, you will find an open and collaborative team that uses the latest Microsoft .Net technologies and other web development frameworks. Working at TRSL, you will collaborate and participate in team development activities using Agile SCRUM to build the next generation software for the agency.
The successful candidate will assist the IT Department by working on a variety of problems such as resolving work orders and executing change request. In addition, the candidate will work on maintaining and upgrading current software applications and participate in developing new applications. Logical thinking and problem solving are required skills. Development tools in use are Visual Studio 2022 or higher and Azure DevOps, Microsoft ASP.NET or .NET CORE, C#, JavaScript Frameworks, REST API services, Web API, ASP.Net MVC, HTML 5 and building custom reports. The candidate will work with a team of developers and business associates to solve business problems and advance the state of the art.
As an IT Intern, you will have the opportunity to develop the following skills:

- Develop project management skills
- Learn new technologies
Candidate may work up to 25 hours per week with a flexible schedule and is expected (but not guaranteed) to continue until the successful candidate is eligible to compete for a full-time position with TRSL. The salary for this position is $17 per hour.
Candidatemust be enrolled full-time in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in an Information Technology related field. Student must maintain full-time status in order to retain eligibility for continued employment as a student worker/intern.
Verification of full-time student status must be provided to the Human Resources office upon hire and at the beginning of each Spring and Fall semester. Verification must be on official university letterhead and include the student's name, status, number of hours enrolled, and classification.
