This position provides clerical, programmatic, and administrative support functions for staff and clients of the Lafayette Parish Child Support Enforcement office.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.
Job Duties:
Acts as receptionist for the Lafayette Child Support Enforcement Office
Ensure the need of persons seeking services and information, both verbal and in writing, are addressed efficiently
Maintain a working knowledge of routine policy and procedures pertaining to Child Support Enforcement and other DCFS programs
Process payments and fees
Receives and signs for incoming mail and processes all outgoing mail
Receives and reviews all incoming applications with and without associated fees, and processes application fees for deposit
Assists with inventory of supplies and equipment for the entire office
Performs other duties as assigned for the smooth operation of the Department
Position-Specific Details:
Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months. Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee.
Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday. Flexible work schedules are available after meeting certain criteria and is dependent upon the position you are applying for. Some positions require working shifts.
Work Location: This vacancy is located in the Lafayette Region in the Lafayette Parish Child Support Enforcement Office in Lafayette, LA.
