Clinicians are part of the hospital Treatment Team providing evidence-based patient-centered care for adult patients who are committed to the Department of Health and Welfare for care and treatment. You will be working as part of a treatment team that includes a prescriber, other clinicians, nursing, pharmacy, medical, recreational therapy, and others.
This position is not eligible for telework.
The Idaho Department of Health & Welfare is a drug-free workplace. Example Of Duties
- Perform assessments, evaluations, observations, and interviews to identify strengths and needs.
- Develop treatment plans, recommend services and interventions to the Treatment Team.
- Ongoing case management consultation with members of the Treatment Team, Regional staff, and Families involved with the patient to gather data relevant to assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Perform assessments for patients at risk due to suicidal, homicidal, assaultive, or elopement behaviors and develop a structured intervention immediately to implement in the Treatment Plan.
- Document clinical observations and assessment data in the electronic medical records per hospital policy and procedure

- A Master's degree (or higher) in a direct clinical practice Human Services field is required for this position. (Master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or very closely related field of study) in accordance with Idaho Codes: 54-3206, 54-3402, 54-3405, and 54-3214.
- Requires licensure in a professional specialty in one of the following areas: Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in accordance with Idaho Code 54-3206, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in accordance with Idaho Code 54-3405, Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in accordance with Idaho Code 54-3405.
