Position: Kafka Automation Engineer
Location: Plano, TX; Charlotte, NC; Pennington, NJ (Hybrid: 3 days in office and 2 days remote)

Notes:
- The engineers would develop automation to manage and deploy MQ or Kafka across internal cloud, BofA cloud, containers, and public cloud. Ansible is used mostly for internal cloud and Terraform mostly for external cloud.

Job Details:
This role focuses on developing new infrastructure automation for deploying and managing Confluent Kafka in the client's internal or external cloud environments. The ideal candidate will understand and update existing automation programs while providing IT security and automation expertise. This is a key individual contributor role with accountability for enabling secure environments for the business and technology groups, requiring a hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week onsite.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and update existing automation programs and develop new infrastructure automation for deploying and managing Confluent Kafka
- Capture business requirements from LOBs and design solutions in collaboration with engineering and operations teams
- Work closely with Application Development/Support teams to understand the usage of messaging protocols within application software
- Document business requirements and develop plans to address the problem/requirement
- Develop testing automation and troubleshoot problems during testing
- Analyze IT security standards and policies for multiple projects of high complexity
- Provide IT security and automation expertise, identifying potential threats and risks and making recommendations
Requirements:
- 10 years of hands-on experience of software development
- Hands-on experience with Confluent Kafka along with automation using Terraform and Python/Ansible
- Hands-on experience with Develop & Test Automation using Terraform and Python/Ansible
- Strong experience with Terraform
- Strong experience with Ansible Playbook and Ansible Tower
- Basic knowledge of Linux/UNIX Shell Scripting
- Basic knowledge of Ping Access and Certificate Management
- Experience with Public and Private Cloud environments
Desired qualifications:
- Experience managing large-scale deployments for an enterprise
- Experience with monitoring software like Dynatrace, AppDynamics, etc
- Experience with Agile Development methodologies
- Familiarity with other messaging software (MQ/IIB, Kafka, Tibco, etc)
