The Inventory control team has a lot of autonomy in their day-to-day responsibilities. Although there are certain tasks that must be completed daily, there's rarely a fixed schedule. Correcting inventory discrepancies identified during the order picking and put-away/replenishment processes will always take priority over cycle counts and inventory slotting. So, you will find there are days IC is heavily focused on correcting inventory discrepancies, while other days the focus shifts to cycle counts and item slotting. That said, IC must still complete a pre-determined number of cycle-counts per day, but then they're also tasked with completing a larger set as time allows (quarterly). An ideal candidate would be skilled in time management, as well as adaptability. Any IC questions/concerns that arise in the UK day-to-day operations should be escalated to the Manager Distribution Process Improvement for resolution (via, email, MS teams, telephone).
IC will meet with the Manager, Distribution Process Improvement on a bi-weekly basis, along with the other warehouse IC teams, to ensure certain targets are being met. Also, IC will be required to work with supply chain, via email communications, to coordinate shipping investigations (and findings) based on customer reported mis-shipments. And most importantly (daily), the IC team is required to interact with, and provide support to, the rest of the warehouse staff. IC is responsible for everything inventory related, and because all functional areas within the warehouse involve inventory transactions, there's a potential need to interface with anyone in the warehouse, at any time.
Ideal IC candidate will be detail oriented, inclined towards math, experienced with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Outlook and Excel, demonstrate critical thinking, strong time management skills, and strong communication skills. MHE experience or a willingness to learn is required. A strong history of transactional accuracy. Experience with dimension scanning devices.
