What You Bring
- High School diploma or equivalent (e.g. GED, HiSET, etc.) required
- Associate degree in nursing or social science field preferred.
- One (1) year nursing experience required, preferably treating the mentally ill in an inpatient setting. (Clinical nursing school rotations may be substituted for a portion of work experience.)
- One (1) year medication administration experience preferred.
- Valid California LVN or LPT license required.
- Provides direct nursing care and supervises same provided by all nursing staff on the shift worked.
- Makes written or oral shift assignments and plans, organizes, and directs the nursing activities of the unit, assuring quality care delivery.
- Visually and audibly observes, documents in writing, and reports orally or in writing the physical or mental condition to the Program Manager and the attending physician or nurse practitioner.
- Orders, prepares, administers, and documents the administration of medication for clients according to physicians’ or nurse practitioners’ orders. Confirms delivery of all ordered medication from pharmacy on shift worked.
- Responsible for writing a weekly summary on clients as assigned.
- Monitors and maintains appropriate nursing documentation in the medical record for shift worked.
- 24/7 inpatient voluntary program
- 16-bed facility for adults (ages 18-59)
- Rehabilitation/recovery services, including substance use rehabilitation services
- Pre-vocational or vocational counseling
- Medication evaluation and support services
