RN Charge - Women's/Post Surg PRN at Starr Regional Medical Center
The Registered Nurse (RN) Charge for the Women's Services Department at Starr Regional Medical Center is a vital role that involves overseeing nursing staff, providing direct patient care, and ensuring quality of care for patients post-surgery.
Responsibilities:
- Perform patient assessments to identify individual needs and develop personalized care plans.
- Supervise and mentor nursing and support staff during assigned shifts to ensure seamless care delivery.
- Determine staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, census, and patient acuity.
- Provide direct patient care as needed, including administering medications and performing treatments.
- Float between staff to assist with problem-solving and address any concerns or issues that may arise.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Associate's degree with active RN license in Tennessee or another compact state.
- Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of hire.
- Prior experience in women's health and post-surgical care preferred but not required.
