RN Charge-Womens/Post Surg-PRN at Starr Regional Medical Center Job Description
The RN Charge Nurse oversees the Women's Services Department, performing patient assessments and establishing care plans. This position involves supervising nursing staff, staffing management, and providing direct patient care as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patient's condition
- Establish a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involves the patient according to his or her capabilities and desires
- Supervise and mentor nursing and support staff during assigned shift
- Determine staffing levels and assignments based on staff availability, staff abilities, census, patient acuity and work/patient flow
- Provide direct patient care as needed
- Float between staff to assist with problem-solving
- Take patient assignments to meet staffing needs
- Evaluate the effectiveness of patient care and identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes
- Respond to complaints about patient care and related services, and manage through established channels
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in Nursing (Preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Required)
- Registered Nurse License in the State of TN or another compact state
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire
