- Assist individuals with daily living activities (ADLs) such as grooming, dressing, meal preparation, and personal hygiene to promote independence and self-care skills
- Implement behavior management strategies tailored to each individual’s needs, encouraging positive behaviors and social interactions
- Support participation in community outings, recreational activities, and social events to enhance community integration
- Collect data on progress toward individual goals, maintaining accurate records for program planning and reporting purposes
- Administer medications following prescribed protocols when required, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations
- Use effective communication skills, including American Sign Language if applicable, to facilitate understanding and engagement
- Drive participants safely to appointments, activities, or outings using personal or agency vehicles while adhering to all safety guidelines
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and autism in home or community settings
- Strong understanding of special education principles and behavioral health practices
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with diverse populations
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies
- Ability to assist with ADLs and provide caregiving support in a respectful manner
- Experience in data collection for progress tracking and program evaluation
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for transportation responsibilities
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and safety procedures
- Background in social work or related fields is advantageous
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and families
