We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Sr. Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team in Minneapolis MN. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices while maintaining strong relationships with vendors and employees. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in accounting principles and practices, with a strong focus on accounts payable functions.
Responsibilities
- Process invoices accurately and efficiently
- Process checks, ACH and wire payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Assist with month-end closing procedures
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely payments
- Perform general ledger account reconciliations
- Set up and maintain vendor records, including discounts, tax IDs, banking details, and address information
- Configure and maintain workflow approvals
- Prepare monthly reports
- Assist with annual audit process.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Associates degree or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Strong understanding of debits, credits, and corporate accounting practices with demonstrated ability to perform general ledger reconciliation
- Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy with a proven track record of processing payments accurately and timely
- Self-starter, able to work independently with a strong sense of urgency demonstrating the ability to organize and prioritize responsibilities
- Proven track record of driving projects and assignments to completion, ensuring full compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards
- Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level required), Word, and Outlook
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with vendors and business partners
- Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TM, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
Compensation Range
The compensation range for this position is $27.16 - $36.06/hour.
Compensation for the role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
