(Star Pipe Products Ltd. has an opening in Houston, Texas) New Product Development Projects Engineer: Develop scope of project development in consultation with Product Management group. Review technical and commercial feasibility. Perform cost-benefit analysis as needed for project approval. Define NPD project tasks and timelines, Review engineering drawing and 3D models as needed and match with unique process capability and limitations at potential manufacturing sources. Consult with engineers at manufacturing locations for new product tooling design and manufacturing parameters. Review individual tooling vendor manufacturing capabilities to match specific tooling specifications and parameters. Provide tooling orders to vendors after review of design and manufacturing cost. Track and coordinate sample evaluation and approval of new products including 3rd party approvals. Review deviations identified during sample review process, plan and facilitate corrective actions with relevant teams. Track projects deliverable milestones and update in ERP system. Communicate development status timely to sales team. Maintain records and organize files and documents related to individual and team projects. Coordinate with team abroad from the U.S. Review with vendors and answer any queries related to Engineering drawings, Engineering Change Notifications, Quality Assurance standards and/or Purchase specifications. Requires little travel within the U.S. (less than 5%) to vendors and tooling manufacturers. Requires Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and 2 years experience in the job offered or related. 2 years must include experience with (1) Manufacturing and tool-making processes related to foundry required for product development; (2) Engineering drawings and specifications for new product development; and (3) Vendor communication and relationship management. Requires any experience with (1) Data capture and analysis for developing project scope and timelines; (2) Project task tracking and Project management in a manufacturing or supply chain organization; (3) Quality Management System and Procedures; and (4) ERP software.
