Warehouse Lead

Position Summary

The Warehouse Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the shipping and receiving operations for the company. This role ensures the accurate and timely processing of shipments, managing inventory control, and follows compliance with safety regulations. This role coordinates the movement of goods in and out of the facility, ensuring that products are properly received, stored, and shipped according to company standards and customer requirements. This position works closely with other departments to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the supply chain.

Key Duties And Essential Functions

• Use P21 software to lead shipping and receiving warehouse operations to ensure accurate and timely movement of materials while maintaining safety and quality standards.
• Pull and stage all materials for projects for upcoming jobs.
• Maintain min/max for all inventory as needed, conduct regular cycle counts, reconcile discrepancies, and ensure accurate system records.
• Coordinate logistics activities, including carrier scheduling, inbound and outbound shipments, and cross-functional communication to meet delivery commitments.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Optimize warehouse layout and material flow to improve space utilization.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 6 year’s experience in shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
• Problem-solving abilities to handle challenges in logistics and shipping.
• Attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety protocols.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues at all levels.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in P21 or equivalent software.
• Experience preferably in the piping or related industry.
• Experience working independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  
  

Physical Demands

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Heavy Lifting: Shipping and Receiving often needs to move heavy materials, equipment, or tools, sometimes weighing over 50 pounds.
• Standing for Long Periods:
• Shipping and Receiving requires standing for extended hours, which can place stress on the lower back and legs.
• Visual Strain: Although not strictly physical in the sense of strength, this position must focus closely on their work for long periods, which can cause visual fatigue and require concentration.
• Exposure to Loud Noise: While not a physical movement, the sometimes noisy work environment can contribute to physical strain and fatigue, especially if hearing protection is not used.

• Warehouse or Distribution Environment: Work is primarily performed in a warehouse which may expose the employee to varying weather conditions.
  
  

Safety-Sensitive Designation

This position has been designated as safety-sensitive because the individual performs duties that directly affect the health and safety of the employee, coworkers, customers, and the general public. These duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Operate heavy equipment in areas shared with pedestrian traffic.
• Handle high-stacked, heavy, or hazardous materials.
• Subject to OSHA and company equipment operation standards.
• Operate pallet jacks, conveyors, and other material handling equipment.
• Work near loading docks and moving vehicles.
• Required to verify and handle hazardous or fragile shipments.
• Climb ladders, operate lifts, or enter racking systems.
• May use scanners, radios, and communication tools while mobile.
