Role Snapshot: Software Engineering Lead, Growth & Monetization. You will own the systems and experiments that turn signups into paying customers across PLG, activation, pricing, and billing.
Compensation: $221k - $295k base equity
What This Role Is About: You will lead a small cross-functional team responsible for Hex's growth and monetization, working across the full stack in React, TypeScript, and Python. The work spans onboarding flows, activation nudges, billing systems, pricing models, and A/B experiments, all tied directly to conversion and revenue metrics. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Data, and Marketing and have a seat at the table on strategy.
Location: New York, NY (hybrid, in office Tuesdays and Thursdays).

What You'll Be Responsible For:
- Lead and contribute code to a cross-functional team shipping full-stack growth features: onboarding, activation, billing experiences, and new pricing models that need to evolve as AI shifts the product landscape.
- Design and run A/B experiments across the funnel when data supports it, and make fast calls on product intuition and customer input when it does not.
- Drive key business metrics (trial-to-paid conversion, user activation, expansion revenue, product-led pipeline) in partnership with Product, Design, Data, and Marketing.
Who Will Thrive in This Role:
- You have 4 years as a full-stack engineer and 2 years leading a team, and you care more about moving a conversion number than writing elegant abstractions.
- You are comfortable making decisions on imperfect data, shipping fast, and iterating. This is not a role where you will have months to plan before executing.
- You have worked in B2B SaaS, experimentation, or billing systems before, and ideally you have seen what early-stage growth engineering looks like up close.
