Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of school premises to monitor for security breaches or unsafe conditions.
- Manage access control systems to verify authorized personnel, visitors, and contractors entering the school.
- Operate CCTV surveillance equipment to observe activity across campus and respond promptly to suspicious behavior.
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting when necessary for emergency situations or equipment setup.
- Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other occurrences with clarity and accuracy.
- Respond effectively to emergencies by implementing procedures such as first aid, CPR, AED operation, or fire safety protocols.
- Utilize conflict de-escalation techniques and conflict management skills to resolve disputes peacefully and professionally.
- Assist law enforcement agencies during investigations by performing background checks or providing security insights.
- Conduct routine inspections of security equipment including access control systems and CCTV cameras to ensure optimal operation.
- Support emergency response procedures by coordinating with first responders and managing crowd control during incidents.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in security roles, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of surveillance technology including CCTV systems and access control systems.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and Taser use is required; additional certifications such as firearm handling are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of physical security principles including patrolling, incident report writing, and manual handling techniques.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently when needed during emergency situations or equipment setup.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with students, staff, visitors, and law enforcement personnel.
- Familiarity with emergency response procedures including fire safety protocols and conflict de-escalation strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to perform background checks and ensure compliance with all security regulations and policies.
