Job Summary
STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a SQL Server Administrator on behalf of our client in Washington, DC. This role requires a highly skilled professional with expertise in managing Microsoft SQL Server environments across both on-premises and Azure cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in automation, DevOps practices, performance tuning, and high-availability systems to support mission-critical infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities

Administer, configure, and maintain SQL Server environments (on-premises and Azure)

Monitor and optimize database performance, including tuning and capacity planning

Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies

Ensure high availability and reliability of database systems

Develop and maintain automation scripts and monitoring tools

Support DevOps processes, including deployments across Dev, QA, and Production environments

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (infrastructure, cloud, network, security) to resolve issues

Manage database security, access control, and compliance requirements

Perform system upgrades, patching, and testing activities

Troubleshoot and resolve database and system-related issues

Maintain documentation, including configurations and operational procedures

Participate in on-call rotation to support critical systems
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field

Proven experience as a SQL Server Administrator

Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server (on-premises and Azure environments)

Hands-on experience with automation and DevOps practices

Solid understanding of performance tuning, high availability, and disaster recovery

Experience with database security, access management, and compliance standards

Familiarity with ITIL processes and enterprise system management practices
